OUR HISTORY

 

God birthed New Creation Christian Ministry, Inc. in the heart of Pastor Kelvin

Kimbro in the year 2015. As declared inHabakkuk 2:2, “Write the vision, and

make it plain…”, this vision was divinely inspired and purposefully appointed.

It was not formed overnight, but cultivated through years of faithful service,

obedience, and preparation. Prior to the establishment of New Creation, Pastor

Kelvin Kimbro and Prophetess Phyllis Kimbro had already served in ministry for

many years, laboring faithfully and being prepared for this appointed work.

What began as a vision soon manifested through fellowship and unity. On

October 1, 2016, a social gathering was held with Kelvin and Phyllis Kimbro,

along with Cynthia and LeKeisha Bradley. During this gathering, a decision was

made to begin a Bible Study Conference Call. The first Bible study was held on

Tuesday, October 4, 2016, laying the spiritual foundation of the ministry.

On October 30, 2016, a church planning meeting was held at 5700 Spencer

Circle in College Park, Georgia, with thirty-two people in attendance. This

gathering marked more than a meeting—it was a divine assembly of individuals

called together in unity and purpose to give form to what God had already

ordained in the spirit. It was in this moment that vision met commitment, and

a foundation was laid by those willing to say yes to the work, the sacrifice, and

the promise of what God was building.

The first official church service was held on December 4, 2016, at the Econo

Lodge located at 3140 Moreland Avenue in Conley, Georgia, with forty people

in attendance. This setting became sacred ground, as the presence of God

filled the space and marked the true beginning of New Creation Christian Ministry as a house of worship. This service signified the birthing of a spiritual home—where lives would be transformed, faith would be strengthened, and the vision would begin to unfold in real and tangible ways.

On December 5, 2016, the Articles of Incorporation were officially approved, formally establishing New Creation Christian Ministry, Inc. as a legal and spiritual entity. This milestone marked not only organizational formation, but the manifestation of a divine vision being anchored in both the natural and the spiritual, as God established a foundation for what was to come.

The ministry concluded its first year with its inaugural Watch Night Service on December 31, 2016, where thirty people gathered in prayer, praise, and great expectation. This sacred gathering was more than a closing of one year, it was a prophetic crossing into a new season, as the people of God came together in unity, believing and declaring that what God had begun, He would surely continue and complete.

On April 26, 2017, New Creation Christian Ministry received approval for its 501(c)(3) status, marking a significant milestone in stewardship, structure, and growth. This approval affirmed the ministry’s capacity to operate with integrity and accountability, positioning it to expand its reach, resources, and impact as it continued to fulfill its Kingdom assignment.

The Installation Service for Pastor Kelvin Kimbro and Prophetess Phyllis Kimbro was held on May 30, 2017, at Light of Life Ministries, under the spiritual covering and leadership of Bishop Dr. Alfred Troy and Prophetess Cheryl Troy. This sacred and momentous occasion marked the public affirmation of God’s call upon their lives, as they were officially set in place to lead, shepherd, and steward the vision of New Creation Christian Ministry. It was a powerful moment of impartation, alignment, and divine confirmation of the assignment entrusted to them.

As the ministry continued to grow and establish its structure, Pastor Kelvin installed the first group of Greeters and Ushers—Tondaleal Peek, Debra Rhymes, and Deante Foster—on August 13, 2017, following six weeks of intentional training and preparation. This milestone reflected the ministry’s commitment to excellence, order, and service, as these individuals were equipped and appointed to create an atmosphere of welcome, reverence, and hospitality for all who entered.

On September 30, 2017, the ministry held its first Baptismal and Child Dedication Service, marking a deeply significant and joyful moment in the life of the church. This service celebrated both new life in Christ through baptism and the sacred commitment of families dedicating their children to the Lord. It was a powerful expression of faith, legacy, and generational blessing, as the ministry continued to nurture both spiritual growth and family discipleship.

From its inception, New Creation Christian Ministry has been a place where faith, vision, and community intersect. God continues to add to the vision and history of the ministry.
We honor and give thanks for the faithful and committed members who have supported this ministry from its earliest days until now. Through their prayers, service, sacrifice, and unwavering dedication, they have helped carry the vision forward, standing as pillars in the house of the Lord and co-laborers in the work of the Kingdom.

In 2026, the church purchased its first property in Decatur, Georgia—a powerful testament to God’s faithfulness and the continued unfolding of the vision He first placed in the heart of Pastor Kelvin Kimbro.

And as the Lord has established this house, so shall He continue to establish it. He will enlarge its territory, increase its influence, and cause it to be a beacon of light in the earth. The same God who called Pastor Kelvin and Prophetess Phyllis Kimbro will sustain them, strengthen them, and anoint them afresh for every new level of glory. As they shepherd His people, He will shepherd them—leading, covering, and guiding them with divine wisdom and authority. And New Creation shall continue to rise, flourish, and fulfill its Kingdom assignment, for what God has spoken, He will surely bring to pass.
